Eagle’s Roost B&B

Welcome

Eagle's Roost is a restored late-1800s Port Master's House perched above the Umzimkulu River on Raspberry Lane — five minutes from Umtentweni main beach and the river mouth.

You stay in a private section of the house: two double bedrooms plus a lounge with a double bunk, sleeping up to six. Wake to Fish Eagles and Crowned Eagles from the balcony — a bird lover's paradise — and look out over subtropical gardens to the river valley.

Warm winters, warm water, and the Sardine Run on the doorstep. River cruises, fishing and deep-sea charters are all close by.

The former Port Master's House

Originally built in the late 1880s as the Port Master's House, Eagle's Roost has watched over the Umzimkulu River, coastline and Indian Ocean for well over a century.

Today this beautifully restored heritage home offers guests history, comfort and sweeping views of the ocean, river valley and lush South Coast landscape — nestled among indigenous trees and abundant birdlife.
